February 28, 2026 Mirror, Mirror

Grab your glitter, your photos, and your best “Vitameatavegamin” smile — because February is all about celebrating friendship, laughter, and a little lovable chaos… Lucy-style!

From chocolate-covered memories to heart-warming hijinks, we want to see pages that sparkle with humor, nostalgia, and classic sitcom charm. Whether you’re scrapbooking romance, mishaps, or moments that made you say, “Lucy, you’ve got some scrap-pin’ to do!” — this month it's all about having fun while you create.

So dust off those vintage vibes, channel your inner red-headed troublemaker, and let your creativity run wild (just… maybe not as wild as a conveyor belt full of truffles). Because around here, we don’t just scrapbook…

Whether you’re scrapbooking romance, mishaps, or moments that made you say, “Lucy, you’ve got some scrap-pin’ to do!” — this month it's all about having fun while you create.

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

One of the most unforgettable moments from I Love Lucy is the famous mirror routine with Harpo Marx — a perfectly timed performance where every move is reflected with precision.

It looked identical…
But it wasn’t.
It was talent, timing, and creativity at work.

This challenge is inspired by that iconic scene.

Your Mission:

Choose a layout from another member, Pinterest, social media, or even one of your own past pages, and “mirror” it by scraplifting the design.

But here’s the twist, you must change at least three elements:
• Color palette
• Theme
• Photo size or number
• Orientation (portrait/landscape)
• Title style
• Embellishment choices
Don’t forget to upload your inspiration layout along with your creation.
My inspiration is a Becki Adams page

Here is my interpretation:

I used Sharon Hill's layout for inspiration. She hand stitches on every layout so I followed her example on that!

Here is my layout. It took my son Andrew 14 years to get his college degree but he did it! Unfortunately just three years later he would die in his sleep from a pulmonary embolism. I am dreading the day I no longer have photos of him left to scrapbook.

I lifted Nathalie Desousa from the SS design team. I changed the orientation and size of photos as well as my embellishment choices.
