My Consultation…..

Post by Jan Mosier »

went very well. The surgeon answered all my questions and explained all the complications. He was very confident and has done a lot of thyroidectomies. He checked my thyroid nodule and said it has started growing into my chest cavity and wants to operate as soon as next week. I will have to stay overnight, surgery will take about 1.5 hours and recovery time is about a week.

My husband, daughter, and daughter-inlaw have all had to get theirs removed years ago. Hope it all goes well and take care of yourself, Jan.

Yes he did. If he had not, I would have looked for one in Columbia before driving to Charleston.

It's a pretty simple surgery, yes?

Hopefully hey can get you in soon. You do not want it growing into your chest cavity. Prayers and well wishes are coming your way.

Yes, but depending on the surgery recovery time could be different. My daughter could barely talk for a few weeks, but then she was fine. She does have some trouble regulating her meds. She couldn't do the generic. Was on the name brand and they quit making it or she couldn't get it. My daughter-in-law did fine on the generic, but they did have to switch off now and then. Think it has to do with women's hormones as my husband hasn't had any trouble at all.

I'm not really sure what is going on seeing how I've been gone, but you are in my prayers for a safe surgery and recovery.
