RQOTD 6/5

Post by Tamara »

Do you have any allergies?

This comes up a lot with my many Dr. appts. I am allergic to medications penicillin, ampicillin,
keflex, compazine, nephedidine, shingles vaccine. I am just glad they are all written down in the system so I don't have to remember them every appt.

In my younger days I had hay fever pretty bad in the fall especially the corn fields.

I’m allergic, or maybe was, to goats and cows, a huge variety of trees and grass, pollen, dust, milk, and other environmental toxins. This week I got the last round of allergy shots immunotherapy! Yay! I’m still afraid to go outside  My house is just behind a cattle market.

According to my doctor, I am allergic to NC. After we moved here, I would break out in a rash during spring and into summer from something in the air. For 3 years, I was told I was allergic to NC, and if I wanted to get rid of the rash, I needed to move. Fortunately, I've acclimated to the area, and the rash is just an occasional one now.

My daughter just got home from Florida and a cruise to the Bahamas. She got a rash almost the first day. She did a jungle zip line obstacle course over the alligators. She tried creams and all kinds of things. When she got on the cruise the ship doctor say oh you have Disney Rash. Apparently it is a thing. Because tourists come and wear shorts and the sun causes the rash. And it is hot and humid. Her ankles were so swollen she had to put her feet up every night. So random but a lot of people get it.
