NATIONAL OLIVE DAY
National Olive Day falls on June 1st on the National Day Calendar to celebrate one of the world's oldest fruits. The olive is part of a traditional meze/tapas culinary experience that brings families and friends around the table.

#NationalOliveDay
Olives are a symbol of peace, hope, love and friendship and National Olive Day is an excellent reason to celebrate the day. We are extending an olive branch to invite you in our celebration to recognize the joy this little fruit provides.

Around the world, approximately 500 different varieties of olives are cultivated. Their flavors range from sweet to bitter and come in a range of colors and sizes. Olives are used in many ways. We find them in cocktails and loaves of bread. We eat them whole as snacks. We use them as toppings and include them on relish trays or as a garnish for many foods. They are one of the most versatile foods we eat and delicious, too!

500 different kinds of olives :o I know of 2: green and black. I only knew about and ate green olives as a kid. I remember the first time I saw and tried black olives. I was about 12 and my aunt had them at a dinner. Now I eat green olives and black olives, if they are with Mexican food. I don't even buy olives

I eat the green ones right out of the jar. . . all the time. Not a fan of the black ones, but I will eat them in the salads at Olive Garden, as I know they're good for you and all.

Never been a fan of olives but I do eat them if they're mixed in something.

I love olives! I always buy the green ones. The black ones, I buy occasionally if I need them for a recipe. I love them right out of the jar, on potato salad, green salads, pizza, margaritas…
Excuse me, I’m going to go eat a couple of them now..
