Join us as we pay homage to the one and only "King of Rock and Roll" - Elvis Presley. Presley's energized performances and interpretations of songs, and sexually provocative dance moves make for a fun and exciting month of challenges. So grab that peanut butter and banana sandwich, put on those blue suede shoes, & tell everybody in the whole cell block to come play along with us this month.
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....
Elvis Presley released two Christmas albums that have become classics for holiday music lovers:
1. Elvis's Christmas Album (1957):
This was Elvis’s first Christmas album and remains one of his most iconic records. It includes a mix of traditional Christmas carols and more contemporary holiday songs, all delivered in his unique style.
2. Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas (1971):
Elvis's second Christmas album leans more into the country and gospel side of his music. It includes a mix of original songs and holiday standards.
Both albums are perfect for creating a nostalgic holiday atmosphere, and they showcase Elvis’ versatility as a performer. Whether you prefer traditional carols or a bit of rock and roll with your Christmas spirit, Elvis’ Christmas albums deliver timeless holiday magic.
The challenge: Create a holiday or celebration ( any holiday) themed layout. Also add some tags, and, since Elvis sang with so much emotion, add some hearts to your creation.
For my example I created a Christmas layout. Jorge and I stopped to take pictures on the way from one of his medical appointments. I love every single picture, because I know he poses for the pictures just to make me happy even though he’s in so much pain.
