Saturday July 6th - Colors & Symbols

Join us all month long as we pay homage to all things associated with the culture and history of America . . . whether it be apple pie, hot dogs, or baseball . . .we each have something that makes us feel nostalgic and proud of our great USA!

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing)

For today's challenge, we are keeping it simple. Use the colors of the American Flag (Red, White & Blue) and include a symbol of American patriotism (ex: a bald eagle, Liberty Bell, American Flag, Fireworks, etc.)

For my layout, I used darker, more "Americana" shades of the color scheme and included a variety of patriotic elements including an eagle, many flags, and even a silhouette of President Lincoln!
