Join us all month long as we pay homage to the tiny creatures responsible for pollinating the flowers, fruits, and vegetables that we all know and love . . . and let’s not forget about the sweet, sweet honey either! Bee-lieve me, there are SO many fun challenges coming your way this month!
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

For today's challenge, I was inspired by my garden. My husband and children have always enjoyed planting vegetable and/or fruit seeds and watching them grow. My daughter was so proud of the watermelon that she successfully grew. Since bees play an integral role in the pollination process, I decided that a garden theme would be perfect for today's "Sweet as Honey" project. My challenge to you is to create a layout involving a garden. Perhaps it's a melon patch like I chose. Or maybe you have beautiful flowers blooming where you live that would be great for a layout. Another option would be using patterned paper with a flower or garden theme. Next, I challenge you to use a repetitive pattern in some way. I chose my hexagon punch, but any pattern will do. I was able to pull this project together using nothing but scrap paper, so my final challenge is to use scraps of paper when designing your project. I'm excited to see what you all come up with!
