SQOTD~ 8.9.20

Post by Tamara »

How do you store your ephemera?

Mine has always just been mixed in with random containers and all over the place. I recently put them in a open plastic basket in my new cubby that was cleaned. I love it, I can just go there and look for the theme of my layout. Wish the rest of my room would magically clean itself. Share your ideas because I am running out of space and may need more containers.

Right now it's everywhere. I have a Scrap Rack which is pretty full which I really like using. I also have little baskets inside of my china cabinet with stacks of things and that's not as easy. I can hardly wait to get into my newly designed scrap room when I can pull everything out and reorganize it all! :)

Mine is everywhere too. I'm not even sure how to organize it.

I have cabinets with little drawers that are seperated by theme. So when I need a heart I just pull out the heart drawer. Whenever a kit is nearing it's end the stickers die cuts, etc. all get put into the drawers.

Mine is all over the place. I just haven't gotten around to organizing it and not really sure how to do that.

I bought flat plastic containers and have my ephemera separated into themes (as best as I can). I only have 4 of these, so there are theme overlaps...like one box is the "fun theme" like Disney stuff, sports, etc. Another box is "holiday/seasonal theme" and has Christmas stuff, snowflakes, flowers. It's certainly not a perfect system, but at least it gives me a place to store it all and track it down easier.

I just recently saw a person I follow do these plastic stacking bathroom trays from Target to store their ephemera so I bought a bunch and LOVE it! They stack flat and my ephemera is now all out of the plastic wrapping so I can see it all easily and the space is now about 6 inches of my shelf instead of 3 feet!!! WOW, what a huge difference. Plus I can transport the tray to wherever I am working at the time. They are from Made by Design in the bathroom section and come in all sizes, the ones I got are like 6 x 9. They sell for a $1 each so pretty affordable as well...I hope it helps me use up some of my ephemera!
