Just for Fun - You can only choose ONE thing. Favorite thing about . . .

Grandma's house was:

Biscuits! She always made the most amazing homemade biscuits....She's been gone for many, many years now, but when I think about my Grandma Tessie the first thing that comes to mind is her very, very soft hands and her biscuits!
Tammy Folk - Strawberries & Peppermints

Scrapbooking....is there really anything else?

Grits. She would always make me and Papa a pot of grits and sausage for breakfast in the mornings when I stayed with them. Grandma Crowley was a straight shooter.....she wasn't shy about speaking her mind. I still remember a phrase that she would say to me often, that's your tail, I'm sitting on mine. I guess I stayed in trouble quite a bit when I was younger.

my Grandma Yager always made me feel loved, She had a very bad hunch back and so when I was about 10 and older we would go visit (she lived three hours away) and I always would go and scrub her bathroom for her as she had a hard time doing it . She just made sure I knew she appreciated it and loved me. Growing up I did not always feel loved but she sure made sure I knew she loved me.

My other Grandma (my dads mom, Grandma Brown) i loved going to her house for a totally different reason. My grandparents had collections and I would spend hours checking them out. Grandma had dolls she collected and also dolls that she made (crocheted ) outfits for . Outfits for different countries and occupations. They were amazing. I have two of her dolls, My grandpa collected rocks and they amazed me also. He even had stone from the Berlin Wall.

Oh my goodness, Tammy, I had forgotten about the soft hands until you said that, but my grandma had very soft hands, too! They lived just down the road from us - maybe a quarter of a mile and that was all our lane - and I loved walking up to their house and spending the day with them! Grandma would always make me something to eat, regardless of the time of day, and it was so nice because they had air conditioning, and we didn't, so any excuse to go and cool off was a good one! She would

BUTTONS! My paternal grandmother saved buttons from sewing projects, those she salvaged from old clothing, etc, She would let us play in them and was generous in letting us have some for various art projects. She kept them in old candy tins and other pretty containers. I have one of her tins full of buttons, which I cherish. Grandma Josephine instilled her love of "making things" (she sewed, crocheted and cooked) in me, and I thank her for it every time I sit down in my scrapbook/craft room.

dentyne gum!
She always had a case of it and that's the only time we got to chew it. One time I took a pack when she wasn't looking. Then I had to confess that I stole it. Of course she said if I had of just asked she would of given it to me. My little lesson of Do not steal!!

sugar cookies. At Christmas she would give us a tin of frosted cut outs. Most of the time my grandma was kind of crabby.
