From robot butlers to astro-antics, we’ve got futuristic prompts to spark your creativity and launch your layouts into hyperspace. So grab your glitter, power up your die-cutter, and get ready to scrap like it’s 2062!

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

My sister and I always loved the Christmas celebrations in the cartoons we watched growing up. There was something magical about those special episodes, the way even futuristic families (like the Jetsons!) found time to trim their trees, share gifts, and spread cheer among the stars.

Image

For this challenge let’s celebrate that same cartoon Christmas magic!
Your challenge:
1. Create a layout that captures the warmth and wonder of Christmas or any other holiday.
2. Add a retro or futuristic twist, think stars, metallics, planets, robots, or anything that gives a nod to those classic cartoon worlds.
3. Include something that feels “animated” it could be bright colors, movement in your design, or a playful embellishment that brings your page to life.

Image

Now it’s your turn!
Power up your space pod, grab your glitter glue, and let’s see your Christmas magic blast off into orbit!

I could not resist using this pic of my DH that I just ran across recently. I've never called him Tommy but that is what his Mom had written on the back of the photo. I have heard stories of his nickname being Tommy Toad when he was young though.
I tried to keep it Vintage and even used my typewriter (which I should do more of. ) My futuristic twist is the modern camera

I used silver splatters for my futuristic element, butterflies for the movement, and it's about mother's day.
