Fri 8/1: "School" of Fish

This month at Cookin’ Up Creations, we’re turning our creative tanks into aquariums of inspiration! Whether your scrappy stash is teeming with color or hiding a few quirky surprises like that one-eyed googly fish, we’re challenging you to open the lid and show us what’s swimming inside. From bubbly embellishments and underwater hues to layouts that make waves with motion and texture, this month we’ll explore a different part of your crafty ecosystem. Think of it like cleaning out your fish tank—only way more fun and way less smelly.

It’s time to check the filter, stir the waters, and let your creativity flow free. What’s in your tank? Let’s find out—one page at a time.

Hello everyone! It's hard to believe it is already August. And for many, back to school time. Since this time of the year is when the pencils get sharpened and lunch boxes are packed, and fish in a group are called "schools," I decided to feature a first day of school picture to kick off this month's challenges. My daughter was so excited to go to the big girl school, and we were able to snap these adorable pics of her going and coming home from her first day of kindergarten. My challenge to you is to create a project featuring schools. Maybe it's a first day photo like I used. Or maybe you could use photos of your loved one at a school sporting or concert event? The possibilities are endless. As an added bonus, include some type of school supply on your layout. I used ruler and legal pad printed paper and a pencil sticker for mine. And for an additional creative challenge, incorporate an apple, the quintessential symbol of school, into your page in some way. I'm excited to see your take on the challenge. Here is mine:
