National Hot Dog Day in July celebrates a summertime staple on a bun. Enjoy one piping hot and add some relish and mustard to go! One thing we want to know - is it a sandwich or not?

Celebrated every year during National Hot Dog Month, this day pays homage to the frankfurter, the footlong or wienie, wiener, wienerwurst or even red hot. They taste just as great no matter what we call it.

Happy National Hot Dog Day!
My son Jorgie is all about those classic Costco hot dogs, he could eat them every day! As for me, I like mine grilled or air fried with a little char, none of that just-cooked stuff. I pile on the cheese, ketchup, and mustard… and every now and then, I’ll go all out and add some avocado too!

Now Jerry’s a little more specific, he is not a fan, but he’ll eat hot dogs, but only with cheese. No ketchup, no mustard, just cheese!

And for the record, I’m firmly on team “a hot dog is NOT a sandwich.”

I like mine grilled or in the air fryer. I've never thought to put cheese on them which is strange because I love cheese, dh calls me his mouse cos I eat so much cheese.
And I've never thought about hot dogs being a sandwich. I guess they kind of are but don't think I'll ever call them a sandwich.
