New Blue Plate Special challenges are posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
The prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing) .....
Happy Birthday to Cookin Up Creations! For my celebration project today, I was inspired by the word "happy" in Happy Birthday. A few weeks ago, my youngest daughter sent me this picture of her during sorority rush week. After a rough start to college life last year, she looks genuinely happy now that she has settled in. This photo of her made my mama heart so happy, that I decided to feature it for my "happy" layout. To kick off the first official week of our birthday month, I am not only challenging you to use this fun sketch from the design team "Sketch N Scrap," but also to incorporate the word "happy" from Happy Birthday into your project in some way. Maybe it's literally the word "happy" like I used in my layout's title. Or maybe you could use patterned papers from your stash that make you happy? The possibilities are endless! As an added bonus, since the word "happy" has five letters in it, try to incorporate five different patterned papers into your project. I had a great time using up my stash of scrap papers pulling this project together. (I may have gone over 5 pieces...) Thank you for playing along with me, and I'm excited to see your happy projects!
