September 2023 - Survivor

Join us all month long as we play our version of the Emmy Award-winning series show Survivor! The ultimate goal is the same - to Outwit, Outplay, and Outlast . . and ultimately be crowned Sole Survivor..

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing)

What do the contestants wear while trying to survive? They are given a list of what they can and cannot bring with them. Their suitcases are checked when they arrive. While trying to survive they are often wearing very little clothes. Then when it is time to vote for who is leaving the island they are dressed up. My challenge is to use photos of people that wear very little and/or wear clothes that cover most of their body. Also use some layers of papers or embellishments to "cover" your page.
I chose these photos of my son and his new baby. One he is covered and the other he is holding his child skin to skin. I layered my photos, tucked flowers under the tag, and added the gold doily under my strip of paper.
Oh and use this sketch I found in a 2021 scrapbook etc magazine I had on my shelf.
