Whether you like it in a cone, a bowl, in a sandwich, or straight from the tub - Join us as we celebrate the sweetest tasting frozen dessert ever . . . ICE CREAM.

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favourite online store (random drawing).....


Have you ever tried a delicious handcrafted bowl of ice cream rolls? There’s a little ice cream shop in Albuquerque, NM that we like to visit when we are there. I used the pictures from our summer trip for today’s challenge which is inspired by handcrafted ice cream rolls.

The Challenge: 1. Use some circles on your layout.
2. Use something that comes in a roll. I used washi tape.
3. Add something that is handcrafted. I stamped the die-cut circles to create
different patterns and created my own background using the circles.
Have fun! Can’t wait to see what you create.

My grandkids tried those ice cream rolls when we were in San Juan on a cruise. They loved them.

It’s amazing how they come to be, right in front of you! I loved watching the process!

Lolis: love your circles on Yoru background; especially how the pattern changed from left to right to top to bottom. the ice cream looks yummy

Yes, it was very interesting in person. The kids had seen it made online before we went.

In keeping with my 2 a challenge goal. I got 2 done today for this. Here's the first. Used circles, washi tape, and stamped bookworm and frog on a stack of books, then colored them in.

School Rules

Here's my 2nd one. I used circles stamped with a Vicki Boutin stamp set I hadn't used before on 49 & Market Ephemera. Music note washi tape, which is all stuck together after I got these 2 pieces torn off. DANG!
