Hi, My name is Phillis Walrath. I live in Fort Covington, NY. It is on the Canadian border, and we have a customs crossing in our town. Our town is small, and we have 1 traffic light in the center of town. I live in the house that my parents owned. We moved here when I was 5.

I have been married for 27 years and am a mom of 2. My son is married and lives in my town with his wife and 2 dogs. My daughter lives in an apartment an hour away. I am the oldest child of 5 and love the small-town life.

I started scrapbooking when my daughter was about 4 and my son was 6, so 20 years ago. I love creating with paper and creating memories. I let the photos lead me to papers and embellishments. I love using sketches and watching tutorials online for inspiration. I love trying new techniques.

My scrapbook style is mostly clean. I tend to use one or just a couple photos, add ink splatters, layer paper, add buttons, sequins, string or thread, and ripped paper edges. I tend to use the same type of embellishment over and over until I notice something that I have not used in a while and then use that all the time.

Right now, my top three embellishments that I am using are: thread or string, gems, and buttons
