We have all heard children (and many adults) say, "When I Grow Up..."
The world is full of opportunities and this month we are going to explore some of them. Join us in September as we create challenges based on careers . . . Who knows, you might decide what you want to be when you grow up!

When I Grow Up - Anon

Someday soon when I grow up, I’ll have a job to do
I’ll write a book or be a cook
Or work inside a zoo.
I might want to drive a bus
Or teach children to read
I’ll lead a train or fly a plane
Or plant a little seed.
I might want to fight a fire
Or be a doctor too
I’ll build a house or sew a blouse
Or sail the ocean blue.
So many jobs that I might choose
I wonder what I will be
I’ll work and learn
Until it’s my turn
To find the right job for me.

Remember - A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations.

Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

*Winner will be chosen via Random.Org.

Welcome to a new month and the first challenge for September!

I chose to work as an accountant for my first challenge because I am married to one so I can tell you all the tips and tricks that I have finagled over the years to get things we needed. DH was in corporate finance for most of his working years. He works well with numbers and has our household finances in check. We have five different accounts all within one checkbook. The main account, gas account, clothing acct, medical acct and my personal checkbook. That meant that if I needed to buy a child a clothing item and it cost more than the balance in the checkbook, I could make the purchase and the next payday it would cover it. That way we never bounced a check because there was money in the bank to cover it all within the same checkbook. (we didn't do that often, rather we accumulated a balance and then made the purchase but it helped in an emergency.) After we became empty nesters the clothing account accumulated quite a bit and then we realized, hey we can buy new clothes now for us!

So my challenge to you today is to use numbers on your page in at least two different places. I have the date written on my page as well as my niece's age. Have fun with those numbers!!
