Join us all month long in March as we celebrate
the 5th Anniversary of Cookin' up Creations (once again)!!
Challenges will be based on the "Birthday Theme"....but not necessarily about birthdays - so, don't worry if you don't have any birthday pictures as the possibilities are limitless...as there'll be challenges for everyone.
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing) .....
*Winner will be chosen via Random.Org
Like baking a cake, we use different ingredients and most of the ingredients are by different manufacturers. So for this challenge, I want you to use products by different manufacturers.......AND, I want you to make some of your own embellishments.
For my layout below, I used patterned papers by Jen Hadfield, Crate Paper and Heidi Swapp. For my embellishments I used stickers by Dear Lizzy, Amy Tangerine and Tim Holtz. The rest I made using my dies and punches.

This was fun!! I used American Crafts patterned papers (heart paper and lemon paper), Bo Bunny word stickers, Bazzil cardstock, Amy Tangerine foam sticker, Simple Stories alphabet stickers, Colorbok alphabet stickers and pink diamond paper, and yellow plaid patterned papers from a stack that I bought over 15 years ago (maybe its DCWV??)
I created my own embellishments use scrap of patterned papers, vellum word stickers and heart punches. I outlined all the pieces of the embellishments with a black ultra fine top Sharpie and, I gotta say, I really like how my shaky-hand lines look!
Thanks for a great challenge!
The dark outline is my carpet. LOL! I don't have a great photo taking set-up but I wanted to show the rounded corners of the background paper.

I used Pink Paisley, American Crafts, WRMK, Bazzill, Elle's Studio, Simple Stories, Crate Paper and some other randoms I have no idea where they are from. My homemade embellishment---well sort of--is the washi tape with hearts. My real challenge was using papers with metallic gold...not a fav of mine.
