Cookin' Up Creations

Good morning!! It's going to be a nice, sunny day here! So happy to be able to open the windows a bit to get some fresh air....while I scrap.

Join us all month long in March as we celebrate the 4th anniversary of Cookin' up Creations (once again)!!



Challenges will be based on the "Birthday Theme"....but not necessarily on the "specific birthday"...the day itself, the person, the gifts, food, games, new life in general (Spring)/ Newness......the possiblilites are limitless...

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....



My challenge for you is to create lots of layers on your project. Just like a birthday cake. The more layers there are, the better it looks.

Here is my page. I used layers and a lot of pop dots.

oh my! it has taken me all day to get this done but so happy with the way it turned out. Layered the pico paper onto a base and the pictures onto cardstock and then added flowers and words. Bam!

Thank you! I just can't get over these kids. They are 15 and 17 right now. It makes my heart just a little bit that we haven't had the same experiences with my three grandsons of my Son. We just don't get out with them as much. When the other two were little I had Fridays off work and we would do little field trips to all kinds of places all the time.

I know what you mean with the kids. when my oldest was little, I had a great boss that understood the need to be there when they are young. He let me leave early all the time to make sure I was at every school event. I had a lot of vacation time that I used for those fun field trips and outings. Now that I am at a new job, I have to earn vacation time again and it sucks. And leaving early is frowned upon. I feel like I've missed so much of the younger two.
