Join us all month long in January as we post challenges with the focus of scrapping with our unused stash! Let's face it, we all have a scrappy stash …. things that we are hoarding, forgot we had, never got around to using … yeah, you know you have it, too!

So join us as we say “OUT WITH THE OLD . . . IN WITH THE NEW!”

For today’s challenge, I want you to dig into your scraps. The only thing that doesn’t have to be a scrap is the base cardstock/paper. And one more thing…..you must use up some of your stash of buttons. So, along with using your scraps and buttons, I also have a sketch for you.


Here's my take on the sketch


A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

What a great sketch and love your example! I have lots of buttons but rarely use them anymore. Thanks for the push!

I pulled out the blue and pink scraps from the bin. And luckily, I had some buttons in the stash that were the perfect colors.
I also used up some misting sprays. I have about 20 bottles that I rarely use.

I used a full page from the DCWV: Marquee paper stack. I always keep my scraps in a bag labeled with the paper stack it goes with. So, for the remainder of the layout I used my scraps. I also used some buttons which I hardly ever use anymore so that was a great incentive.
