I was surprised at the responses yesterday and how down everyone seems this year. It is a strange year and there are so many restrictions being placed on us but one of the things that no one can change but me is my attitude. In times like these, I choose joy....I even have a sign in my kitchen that says Choose Joy ( made by the wonderful Jill Yegerlehner from Jillibean) to remind me that I have a choice. Joy and happiness are not the same. Joy is in spite of all your circumstances.
So today, instead of talking about wrapping gifts....will do that tomorrow.....we are going to talk about What Brings You Joy?

Visiting with my son when he walks over in the evenings.
Talking and laughing with my sister over the phone.
Hanging out with my mom.
Grocery shopping with my sister.
Snuggling on the couch with my dogs.
My little warm and cozy house on a cold, rainy day.
Thrift shopping with my friend, Ms. Barbara.
A stocked pantry.
A M&M McFlurry after a long shopping day.
A chick-fil-a sandwich.
Peace and comfort in knowing that the good Lord and Jack are always watching over me.

This is just a few of the many small things that bring me joy on a daily basis.

Love your list, Jan!

That's it! Most of the things that bring us joy has been taken from us.
Seeing the grandkids brings me joy! Our Sunday family dinners that are no longer in existence and may not come back they way they were.
But there are also lots of things to bring us joy!
The lines in the carpet after a fresh vacuum
A sunset in a beautiful sky
Good news from a hospital test
attending Scrap retreats!
going out to dinner
I think we all can find things if we make it a priority

Even though it's been a hard year for everyone there are still many things that bring me joy.

Seeing our granddaughters
Getting a text from our granddaughters
Spending hours on the phone with my brother
Waving to our neighbors when we pass them in the car or golf cart
Seeing dh spending hours on the phone with his daughter
Watching the birds in our back yard, especially the cardinals
Getting a whiff of my mother's perfume when I open drawers where I keep her jewelry

These are just a few of the things that bring me joy

I agree that things are definitely different and it takes away some of the joy.

Small things that bring me joy-
seeing my kids happy every day - even with their limitations
happy to still have a job
my tortoise that greets me when I walk in every day
friends that I can call on my commute home
that Netflix has kept me distracted from depressing news
I have the best neighbors ever
we all still have our health
that pizza can still be delivered
scrapbooking still brings me joy

Always something to be joyous about. We must choose joy!!

The beautiful weather we had here today, my dogs, my family, my grandkids, my hubby has a job, we are healthy, Jesus is my saviour. I could go on and on. But it is easy to get discouraged over things so we must choose JOY!

Yes we must CHOOSE the joy that we all NEED so desperately right now. :)

I too am joyful that Jesus is my Lord and Savior and that my hope and trust are in HIM and not some government or other thing.
I am joyful that I have a husband who loves me and takes very good care of me.
I am joyful for the amazing friends we have - especially here on the island.
I am joyful that my entire family is healthy.
I am joyful that I have my scrapbooking to keep me sane when I get way too anxious.
And last but certainly not least I'm joyful that we live in a VERY safe location where no matter what happens we can gather food and almost anything else we need to survive with not much effort as opposed to where we used to live where we were totally dependent on stores, people, etc. for our survival.

Patti, I LOVE this! Thank you!

Thank you, ladies! Sounds like you all have some great things that bring you joy! When you are starting to get down because the norm has changed remember them and choose joy.
