a new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' Up Creations Gallery.

Prize will be a $10 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

*Any month that we have more than 50 completed layouts/creations, the prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate instead of $10.

Celebrating Birthdays all month is picking something that you enjoy on your special day. Doesn't the fun begin right before you eat cake? The excitement of the Birthday person blowing out the candles! Your challenge today is to create a layout or cards or project using candles in any way. They can be in the photo on the cake, it could be a menorah celebration, a lit candle in a room of your home, firecrackers look like candles, colorful fun with a flame. Stickers, homemade candles, whatever you choose.
These photos were back in the day when we didn't concentrate to hard on getting the cake. Silly me but Kalli enjoyed licking the frosting off of the candles in Grandpas cake.

I love your double-pagers, Tamara! They always make a wonderful way to share a story. I would like to do more storytelling but find that I feel time restricted.
So far I've found some older birthday pp and might see a candle in the mess BUT I did find a photo of my GS with some sparklers. I'm off to a good start!
