10/12/19 - The Circus Marquee

Post by Cassy »

Ladies and Gentlemen! Boys and Girls! Step Right Up for another Fun Filled Month of Challenges here at Cookin' Up Creations!! Please join us as we Clown Around all month long!

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Wednesday and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations. The winner is chosen by random drawing; the prize is a $10 gift certificate to the winner's favorite online store. Every completed project earns you one entry into the drawing.

*In any month that we have more than 50 completed layouts/creations, the prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate instead of $10.

One of the first things that I think of when I think of the circus is the lighted signs or marquees. They draw you in and create such excitement at night! For this inspiration, be inspired by the marquee. This could be inspiration from the photo below, the marquee itself, the sign concept, the lights, even the marquee fonts that would be perfect for this idea. For my layout, I created a marquee background shape to frame the photos of my daughter and her roommate at the Jack Septiceye performance at The Fillmore in Detroit.

Cool it's basically a shape challenge with inspiration added in. Wish I had some kind of embellies that actually light up.

Cassy, I love the way you used the entire shape on your page! You even managed to work in some stripes. AWESOME job! Very Cool challenge!

I've got to play catch-up but plan to get working on this challenge before the weekend is over.

Here is my take. The red and yellow on the marquee look orange together and the pumpkins on the paper look like marquee lights.
