This month at Cookin’ Up Creations, we’re turning our creative tanks into aquariums of inspiration! Whether your scrappy stash is teeming with color or hiding a few quirky surprises like that one-eyed googly fish, we’re challenging you to open the lid and show us what’s swimming inside.

From bubbly embellishments and underwater hues to layouts that make waves with motion and texture, this month we’ll explore a different part of your crafty ecosystem. Think of it like cleaning out your fish tank—only way more fun and way less smelly.

It’s time to check the filter, stir the waters, and let your creativity flow free. What’s in your tank? Let’s find out—one page at a time.

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

For this challenge you will need to add some texture, some sparkle and a large title or some large words.
On my layout I used texture paste mixed with blue gelatos and then painted them with some liquid glitter. I used a punch for the top & bottom green strips and then filled the holes with some pop up sparkly gems along with some Nuvo drops which added even more sparkle. I opted to use some large words instead of a title.

I started with a patterned paper that already had a great deal of texture, so I chose to add additional texture by using the frame that continues the look of the boardwalk and the plant leaves that tie in with both the picture and the paper. The lace at the bottom of the frame added a bit more texture plus brought in the color of the dress. I used Nuveo dots on the larger flowers and dragonflies for additional texture and shine, some glitter enamels for bling, and finally, the large title I printed on clear sticker paper so it appears to be printed on the paper.

You guys know me and texturing, right? Well I found some gold glitter pat so I thought I would try it. Opened it up and it was so hard. Threw it away and then grabbed a stencil and some acrylic paint, then added iridescent green glitter to make the flower embellishments. So Thanks girls now I have glitter ALL over my scrap table

The little girl starts her Junior year of High School tomorrow and made the high School Tennis team. I have her schedule and can't wait to go to a few of her matches!!
