February 2025 - Fairy Tales
On February 26th we Celebrate "National Tell a Fairy Tale Day" - But why not celebrate it all MONTH long?? This month we intend to do just that! Let's celebrate the folklore genre and the stories of magic, enchantments and mythical beings that all take place "Once Upon a Time".
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....
Today we are going to focus on the Fairy Tale, Thumbelina.
Born of a flower and growing to only a couple of inches tall, poor Thumbelina is worried she'll never meet someone her own size, until she happens to catch the eye of Prince Cornelius of the Fairies. As soon as she finds love, however, it's torn away from her when she is kidnapped by a toad. Now Thumbelina has to escape the toads grasp and search for Prince Cornelius. Luckily, there's a whole city of animals willing to help her.
For this challenge, you will need to include something small, little or tiny on your layout. It could be a baby, kitten, puppy, a bud before it blooms into a flower.....think small. If you don't have a photo of something small, you can include the word, tiny, small or little in your title. You will also need to include flowers and tags on your layout.
