Mon 12/2: Sketch & Snowballs

Everybody LOVES Frosty the Snowman. Since his premiere in 1969, Frosty is a character we all remember fondly. Our magical snowman doesn’t know much about the world, but he’s so full of love and cheer that he makes us all so happy.

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

Welcome to a new week and a new month of challenges here at Cookin Up Creations! I'm starting off our month of projects inspired by Frosty the Snowman using this incredibly fun sketch by Rochelle Spears of Sketches in Thyme. When I saw this sketch originally, I knew I wanted to use it. And soon! With this challenge being Frosty themed, I instantly thought, "Circles=Snowballs!" What I love about this circle sketch is that you can use MULTIPLE papers from a line, especially if the papers are double sided. I have a huge stash of patriotic paper that I typically only use during the summer. I decided to pull that paper out of storage and make "snowballs" (circles) from them! These pics are from a trip fifteen years ago my family took to Washington DC. My daughters and I are Abraham Lincoln fans, so I thought we would be perfect subject matter for a patriotic snowball theme. My challenge to you is to not only use this sketch but also use a stash of paper that is not typical for this time of year. As an added challenge, ink up your papers some like I did. (Because snow does not stay pristine white for long...) I'm excited to see your take on this challenge!
