Sweet As Honey

Join us all month long as we pay homage to the tiny creatures responsible for pollinating the flowers, fruits, and vegetables that we all know and love . . . and let’s not forget about the sweet, sweet honey either! Bee-lieve me, there are SO many fun challenges coming your way this month!
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

I can’t help but think of lavender honey when someone mentions beekeeping. My friend Ken is a bee keeper and shared some of his first batch with me years ago. I immediately noticed the hint of lavender in his honey and he said it came from the lavender bushes that were near his beehives. Lavender infused honey has been a favorite of mine ever since!
Let’s use lavender honey as our inspiration for today and include purple (any shade) on our layouts. In addition to purple, your challenge is to use stripes (for the honeybee’s body) and something with an interesting texture (for the honeybee’s fuzzy body that transports pollen).
My layout used purple, black/white striped patterned paper, and yellow crushed velvet brads.
