Crafters...what are your buying habits

Post by tammyfolk »

Do you buy a ton of stash so that you'll "have it in case you need it" and then spend hours organizing it?

Or do you buy just enough to work on what you're doing at the moment?

When I do go shopping....

I tend to be the former but trying desperately to become the latter.

I rarely shop for scrap supplies but when I do it's usually Peachy Cheap or something with a coupon or on clearance at the big box stores.

Having worked at a scrapbook store I had opportunity to buy buy buy and so I did because it was all 40% off. Now I have enough to last me two life times. I still buy selectively every once in a while but once a year I head to Milwaukee to the She Loves Color event and buy buy buy and then I head over to a Scrapbook store a half an hour away which gives a discount in honor of She Loves Color and buy buy buy. It's a habit developed from working at the store that I need to break. I am in the process now of going through all of my supplies and deciding what I really need to keep and use and the rest of it is going to a 3rd grade class to use. It will be so freeing.

I tend to have too much stuff (like the majority of people do) - I'm actually trying to destash some of my stash this year.

I get a monthly kit and usually pick up the paper add on, embellishment add on and colored cardstock option. I buy collections (usually online) for specific purposes (like a gift album or special project) or if I really love a new line. Latest purchase included an Echo Park baby boy collection for the new grandson and Prima,s Amber Rose because I love it (and I had a gift certificate from my oldest daughter for my birthday).
