As we dive into this homespun meets high-falutin’ theme, it’s time to strike a little “black gold” of your own—creative gold, that is. We’re talkin’ pages that shimmer brighter than Ellie Mae’s smile and layouts that’ll make your creativity bubblin’ up faster than an oil well on a Tuesday.
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....
Happy weekend everyone! For today's Beverly Hillbillies Challenge, I was inspired by the early days of television when aired shows were in black and white. The picture that introduces this challenge reminded me of a picture of my daughter, mother, and me taken before my daughter left for her senior prom. I had my camera on a black and white setting and took this selfie of us three. It's one of my favorite pictures ever. I thought it would be the perfect subject matter about a television show that was originally aired in black and white. My challenge to you today is to create a layout that uses black and white in some way. Perhaps you could use a picture like I did? Or maybe you could use only black and white papers for your project? The possibilities are endless! All the papers I used for this project were from the same scrapbook paper pad. My final challenge to you is to use papers from either a scrapbook pad or a paper kit where all the materials coordinate. I'm excited to see your take on this challenge!
Here is my project...
