I was stunned and my husband said now I feel bad I didn’t introduce myself to her.
wow, Tamara, what a story. It just shows that there are good people in this world. We just got back from exercising and then a quick trip to the thrift store. I bought a liquid measuring cup, a book, and a Christmas tie for my hubby. I wanted a 12 inch cover for my fry pan. They have all sorts of odds and ends covers there, but nope. DH bought himself a new iPad that came yesterday and wanted to know if I wanted the old one. I haven’t had an iPad for years and it would be nice to be able to do some of the classes that I do virtually which is the iPad there and not my big honking computer. He was in the process of transferring information, I was watching a show on my Kindle and the Internet just started spinning and spinning. Thinking that it was just an overload resetting the modem did not work. He got a text from our provider that a tech was on their way Because someone had cut a line. It could be up to six hours so I’m going to have to be on my phone most of the day with the Wi-Fi turned off.
It is a stay at home day for us after my doctor appointment. Yesterday we went to the cheesecake factory. He wanted to go somewhere nice because he had made a little money on one of our CDs. While we were sitting, I looked up and the table next to us was a lady that I have been following For years as her family grew, and they go on so many vacations her Instagram name is actually sexymodestshoppin She started her own brand years ago and has done quite well. A couple weeks ago she was scammed by someone pretending to be an FBI agent and saying that they had warrants out for her arrest. They sounded so real to her. They knew every in and out of her family life everything it was kind of scary. They even had her go to the bank to withdraw thousands of dollars, but they had to stay on the line while she went up to the teller. I know there were several real red flags, but all the questions she asked them about her to verify things they knew even the way she signed her name then they had her go to an ATM that had to be an FDIC one and as soon as she sent them the money she knew it was a scam. I wanted to go over and meet her. My husband told me not to, but when he went to the bathroom, I got up and went and talked to her. I told her that I recognize her so well, but realize that she has no clue who I am or what I look like. I have sent her several DM‘s on different things and she has always DM me back. She told me thanks for coming to meet her. A lot of people tell her later oh I saw you at so and so place but didn’t want to interrupt you. She says she’s always happy to talk. She had actually just been to a meeting with a real federal agent about the scam and they were close by so they were at the same restaurant I was. It was an interesting meal first of all they were out of our appetizer we ordered so we had to order a different one then they were out of the meal that my husband had shows so when the waiter came back the third time we were laughing and joking with him that what else are they going to be out of possibly our cheesecake since we planned on getting that and rarely do but my doctors appointment went well so it was my treat anyway we had the waiter come up to us and tell us that it was OK we could just go that we didn’t have to pay and we’re like but we haven’t paid our bill yet and he says oh the people at that table took care of your bill. My husband said what about the tip we need to give you your tip he’s like I’m sure we’re OK but let me go check. He came back and said yeah there was plenty for the tip. I was flabbergasted here. She is going through all of her stuff and she paid for my meal, I’m sure it was close to $90 since we had an appetizer and cheesecake which we don’t normally do. I see her do so much good in the world, but who would’ve thought it would’ve ever come my way . Such a sweet gesture from a beautiful family.I was stunned and my husband said now I feel bad I didn’t introduce myself to her.
