our 8th Birthday here at Cookin' up Creations!!

Challenges will be based on the "Birthday Theme"....but not necessarily about birthdays!!
Don't worry if you don't have any birthday pictures as the possibilities are limitless! Trust me, there'll be enough different challenges for everyone.
You ARE NOT going to want to miss this month-long celebration!

New Blue Plate Special challenges are posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.

The prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing) .....

Today’s challenge is inspired by my favorite and least favorite party decoration…confetti! I love it because it’s colorful and fun (and an inexpensive decoration), but it’s messy and a lot of work to clean up.

Let’s get messy today! Along with the sketch below, your challenge is to use ink splatters or glitter on your layout along with a scattering of embellishments. I used ink splatters, glitter letters, and scattered sequins.

Yea I can use my sequin stash! Confetti makes me laugh that it is not your favorite. me too! However our daughter loves the poppers that shoot everywhere. She always cleans her house when they go on a trip. We always go daily to feed their animals so one trip their oldest son asked us to go shoot off a party bomb of confetti for their return trip. It was a joke with his mom and it went off like a hitch. IT was awesome! We did tell him he would have to clean it up if we did this for him. IT was epic!

Ha! I wonder if he would have changed his mind if he knew he had to clean it up! I love those poppers, too, but what a mess they can make!
