February 2025 - Fairy Tales
On February 26th we Celebrate "National Tell a Fairy Tale Day" - But why not celebrate it all MONTH long?? This month we intend to do just that! Let's celebrate the folklore genre and the stories of magic, enchantments and mythical beings that all take place "Once Upon a Time".
A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' up Creations Gallery.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....
Today’s Fairy Tale is Rumpelstiltskin. This is a German Fairy Tale about a miller who tells the king his daughter can spin straw into gold. The king locks the daughter in a room filled with straw and a spinning wheel. The king threatens to kill the girl if she can't spin the straw into gold by morning. A small man named Rumpelstiltskin appears and spins the straw into gold in exchange for the girl's necklace, ring, and eventually her firstborn child.
So for this challenge you must use several strips of paper to represent the straw and of course some gold along with some stars.
