A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday (sketch), Wednesday, and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations in the Cookin' Up Creations Gallery.

Prize will be a $10 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

*Any month that we have more than 50 completed layouts/creations, the prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate instead of $10.

Today we are talking about Chatterbox. This company had scrapbook lines called scrapbook walls. Every kit looked like a paint strip including all the shades of the palette, coordinating solid papers, vellum papers and pattern papers. Kind of like different rooms. They had an outdoor, nature feel with browns and greens. Blues and oranges, burgundy etc.
Your challenge today is to incorporate vellum into your layout. And back in the day of vellum several companies came out with vellum adhesive products but it still showed through the paper no matter what we used. Our best bet was to place the adhesive in a spot that you knew would be covered up. Today they have finally conquered it with this tombow vellum adhesive. It works as you can see on some of my edges of placing the vellum. (ten years later when none of us want to use it. )
Here is my example! Have fun sifting through your papers to the bottom of the pile! I also used washers from Chatterbox. I have quite a few. lol
BONUS: Anyone doing this challenge names will be placed in a drawing for a prize!!

Great challenge!
I love the look of vellum on a page but hardly ever use it. And I didn't know Tombow came out with an adhesive that works on it!

I just recently started using vellum again. Plain vellum is hard to find in my area. I had to order it from Amazon. On this layout, the first page on dad's annual Christmas calendar, I used vellum butterflies. I wanted to keep it light to match the photo of my niece with her first pair of point shoes. And to think that I used to scrap her baby pictures on this site when I first joined!!!

On mine I used vellum 2 different ways. On 2 sides of the photo I punched some clear vellum and the orange circles I punched and embossed them.
