Good morning everyone, and welcome to the first Stash Challenge. A stash challenge will be posted on the fourth Tuesday of every month starting October, 2024. The goal is to use up some of our older.....or newer, products that we've been hanging on to for awhile. I don't know about you, but I have quite a bit of older patterned papers that I would like to start using up. And if we happen to create something we love in the end, then it's a win, win!
Let's start this challenge off by making a cover for our book/journal. I have a series of photos that I hope will help, but I will also provide a Youtube link if you need it.
First you want open up your box. Cut away the flaps I have marked.
What's left will be the size of your book. If it is larger than you wanted, this is the time to trim it down to your desired size.
Next, choose a patterned paper to cover your box/journal, and glue it to your box.
If your box is wider than a 12x12 piece of patterned paper, you can cover the front and back and cut another piece of patterned paper in a different print to cover the spine.
Snip the corners and fold paper over. If any of the box shows, you can ink it or add a pocket which will we discuss later.
Now its time to add some patterned paper to the inside of your book.
Here's a link to a Youtube video in case you're like me and need a visual.
