Join us as we flock together to complete this month's "Birds of a Feather" themed challenges. While this old proverb is true of all of us who share the same love for putting our memories on scrapbook pages or creating beautiful cards, the focus is not on us, but on the various birds that surround us with their beautiful colors, their varied songs, and their nest building skills. They may hang around our yards splashing in a bird bath and enjoying a free meal or they may make their home in a zoo. Perhaps they were a once in a lifetime sighting or a pet you enjoy every day. Big or small, they may frighten us or delight us. We use their names to describe others...you wise old owl, she's as colorful as a peacock, he's just a little songbird. They have stared in movies and inspired songs and poetry. And these amazing creatures have even risen to the heights of being honored as state and national symbols. So, get ready!! The birds are coming!
Remember - A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations.
Prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate to their favorite online store (random drawing).....

Happy Halloween! Today’s bird is the Dodo!
This flightless bird went extinct less than 200 years after its discovery. The species lived undisturbed on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean for so long it lost its need and ability to fly. The Dodo was an easy target for sailors looking for meat on their voyages.
Your challenge is to use an “extinct” manufacturer and the sketch below from Pagemaps.com. Also, include two pairs of things on your layout (since today’s bird name has a pair of Ds and a pair of Os).
In my example I used Chatterbox papers, a pair of tags, and a pair of wooden clips. Have fun!!

Okay there are two tags and two stars. I do not know if the manufacturer of the music paper is out of business. I have had the paper for over twenty years and there are no markings on the back, but I do know the store where I bought it is closed. That will have to do.

Love the music patterned paper and the dodo Al half and half background!

So glad I finally had a chance to get this one done!! Finished them all again this month!
Based on the sketch, Best Creations is the out-of-business manufacturer (I've had that paper a long, long time). My 2 pairs are the 2 spiders by the title and the 2 skulls in the upper right of the photos.
