SQOTD 8/29/2020

Have you taught anyone else how to scrapbook, a friend or family member maybe?

I taught my mother and sister but neither of them scrap anymore. My mother has scrapped one page, maybe two many years ago. My sister has scrapped several pages but only when I scrap with her, she hasn't scrapped any on her own.

I haven't taught anyone. I had one lady interested in learning but then she decided not too.

I've had a couple of my granddaughters scrap with me, but that's it. They haven't stuck with it, too busy with other things.

My daughters like to play around with me in my scrap room. I don't think I actually teach them how to do anything in particular except how to use certain tools like the Cricut. Really with anyone I scrap with I tell them they can't mess up. You do what you want and what makes you happy. I do suggest techniques such as using an odd number of embellishments to make a project more pleasing to the eye but that's about it. I think scrapbooking is the one hobby where there are no mistakes. And sometimes the mistakes that are made when putting the project together makes the project amazing and some of the best ones.

YEs I have helped several newbies get the hang of it at retreats and also taught my granddaughter. Dance and school activities prevent us from doing it now but she is working on a Halloween book with her mom and my supplies! If you need any of my stickles, they are at my daughters house to the tune on at least 20 jars. She has had them for months because they were going to work on them and guess what? Every time they start something comes up. Go figure. I finally had them give me my stuff back, they did get my stickers stickled for me! Yea! But i haven't had time either to work on mine lol

Long ago in Florida I used to teach newbie scrapbooking classes. They were always fun! :)
