SCRAP QUESTION OF THE DAY -- SATURDAY, FEB. 15

Post by BarbP »

Goof morning! I've been working on layouts and projects, creating lots of leftover scraps. It drives Mike up the wall because I tend to save almost any scrap, no matter how tiny. Lately I've been throwing away any scrap under 4 x 4 inches, just to keep the peace. ;)

Do you save scraps? How big (or how small) are the scraps in your stash? Do you use up your scraps, or toss them to make room for more paper?

I have a scrap box..a BIG ONE....when it gets full I usually give it to one of my Stamp Club girls. She uses them for projects at a senoir center then.

Great idea! I gave unused papers, embellishments, and odds and ends to a shelter for abused women and their children when we moved from Illinois to Colorado. They were thrilled to have the things for their art and journaling sessions.

I tend to keep small pieces of plain cardstock but throw away smaller than 4x4 patterned papers. I have a big container of scraps. When it gets full, I donate it to the local elementary school.

I have a box with larger pieces and another box where I keep bags of smaller pieces that I "stand up" in the box for easy sorting.

I save them, but sometimes I don’t even know what I have or where it is anymore.

I only save ones large enough to use on a LO unless it is part of a kit and I might be doing something that the smaller pieces could be used and then they get put back into the kit bag. When I collect enough large scraps I give them to a couple of high school girls who scrap.

I keep some scraps on my desk; especially if they are white cardstock. I sort the bigger ones into file pockets. Smaller ones I keep on my desk for a bit and if they are still there after awhile I finally toss them
