Have you ever gone to a scrapbook retreat or a crop. (Not an on line crop)

I have gone to two retreats many years ago. They were great. I also have been to crop's but not in a long time.

I've been to three "conventions" and quite a few crops at our old LSS. A local group of ladies would host crops for a while after the LSS closed, at various places, but we have kinda stopped all that now.

No crops for me. I do not like them. I would need something that I did not bring along.

We had a nice little scrapbook store for a couple of years bck in Illinois, and we had some Friday night crops there. They were small but usually fun. We'd get pizza and it was BYOB.

My oldest daughter used to scrapbook, and we went to three Creating Keepsakes conventions(?). She drove to IL from Minnesota, then we went to the one near St. Louis (on the IL side of theMississippi). We had fun together but it was kind of pricey and a lot of miles for her, so we stopped going.

Now there's a really nice store in Colorado Springs, about 45 minutes from me. I go there when I have doctor's appointments in the Springs. They have occsional classes and crops but they fill up fast and are often in the evening. And like Berh, I worry that I will need somerhing I didn't bring. Also I'm actually pretty shy, so it's hard foe me to "break into" a group.

When I worked at Archivers I went to them just about every weekend...not as a scrapper but an employee. Gives you a different perspective on them. Friends and I have gotten together to do a weekend away that we organized....more a mental health day for a friend with cancer. I organized one for a fund raiser once....it was ok. I went to a weekend retreat a few years ago with an online group. A couple of the ladies were scrapping porn...interesting weekend with lots of drama. Went to Expo once and got ripped off last fall when my classes were cancelled. So, I was pretty much decided that I would not be doing any more crops and staying home in my safe environment was the thing for me. And then one of my all time fav. companies announced they were having a weekend in Milwaukee so I went to She Loves Color and absolutely LOVED IT!!! It was expensive but worth every penny and I am planning on going back this year.

Years and years ago.....when Creative Memories was popular. I find that I don't do well at crops. I always forget to pack something. In order for me to scrap I need to have all of MY crap around me.
