When you start a new scrapbook page, do you usually start with patterned paper or plain card stock as a background?

Most of my scrapbook pages have patterned as a background.

About 3/4 of the time I use cardstock as my base, but sometimes I switch it up with patterned paper.

The majority of the time I reach for a pattern paper. If I do use cardstock it's usually white.
