Join us all month long in January as we take a nostalgic trip back to Comfort Food the way only Grandma could make it!
All challenges will be Recipe Challenges based on actual recipes - converted to Scrapbook Challenges. . . lots of fun recipes to share, and fond memories of days gone by.
Remember - A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations.
My husband loves the way his dad made Macaroni and Cheese. So that is our go to recipe:
Preheat the oven to 350*
2 cups macaroni
1 pound sharp cheddar cheese
10 to 12 crushed crackers
6-10 ounces of milk
Cook the macaroni. Slice the cheese
In a greased baking dish layer half of the macaroni
Next layer half the cheese
Layer the rest of the macaroni
Layer the crushed crackers
Layer the rest of the cheese
Add enough milk into the dish so that you see the milk just below the top layer of cheese.
Put foil over the dish.
Bake for 1 hour; then remove the foil and continue baking for 1 hour.

Ural.....I hide blobs behind the photos, also
Tamara. It looks great. Sometimes I like the blobs
Sometimes I do take the sprayer out if the bottle and tap it with a pencil so it splatters on the page that way. I put the sprayer back into the bottle and do this several times. It is the long tube that the ink is in or clinging to the outside of that splatters on the page.
