Usually just another but this year a friend is taking me out to dinner because dh is out of town
Sounds like fun Patti!!
I try to think of mine as just another day....sometimes Shawn goes all out, and then sometimes I'm not even sure he remembers. Sadly, G is always with his dad. Of course I get the phone calls, and Facetime from my kids and that makes it all worth it!
I turned 52 this year and I got the annual phone call from both parents....that is if mom remembers it's my birthday. If she remembers, she usually calls first to wish me a happy birthday and will then tell dad to call. If I don't hear from her then I know she forgot and I won't get the second call from dad either. It's a running joke in our family every year. Jack wishes me a happy birthday as soon as my feet hit the floor.....how he remembers is beyond me. Followed by gifts.....this year I asked for a cooler to take to markets. My mom, sister and nieces usually take me out to lunch either a week before or after my birthday. Kyle and I usually plan a mom and son outing to Columbia which includes lunch and a trip to Hobby Lobby and Michael's.
