Home improvement projects, do you plan them or just let them come about when there is an issue?

Oops, sorry I didn't post a QOTD My foot was hurting a lot last night (a boot issue) so I took a pain pill; it knocked me out until after noon today.

We used to do fixes or renovations if something became an issue, but we're tearing out our carpet and tile flooring, then replacing it with laminate later this month. It isn't a "needed" project, but we miss the ease of caring for our laminate floors in our last house in Illinois. The tile that came with the house isn't great, and the carpet is kind of "cheap".

Kinda depends on what it is - easy stuff we usually go ahead do. Planned to build our island; planned to build my desk; planned for the wood flooring. Need to do a few little things around the house (like replace the floor vents but haven't got around to that yet)

Our house is only 4 years old so we don't need to renovate anything. We've done several things like landscaping, painted the driveway, put in a garage door screen and a whole house water filter. I think we're done for a while now.

We did a major reno several years ago.....new windows, metal roof, kitchen and laundry reno. I do however, have some demo that needs to be done on the outside. I have a couple of outbuildings that need to be torn down and removed to make room for a shop.

Definitely plan them. I have lots of projects planned for when we save up enough for them!
