Recipes -

What is one recipe that you make or would like to make that has been in your family and passed down?

For me - It's my mother upside down fruit cake.

I was never a fan of it (it's not your traditional fruit cake as the icing is a fresh fruit conconction), but around the holidays I feel the need to make it every once in a while. I'm pretty sure my brother has the original recipe, and I might need to reach out to him and ask him for a picture of it.

My mom wasn't a very good cook so nothing was really passed down.

My moms broccoli cheese casserole. She only makes it a few times a year and I can never seem to get enough of it.

There was nothing like that passed down to me; my mom was not that great of a cook either

Million dollar pickles hands down. They take 3 weeks to make and they are delicious. Even my daughter makes them so that is definitely a generation recipe that has been passed down from my mother's mom to her to me to my daughter.

We're huge pickle fans in this house Tamara! Are they a type of dill pickle? Sweet? Care to share the recipe??

I wish I had asked for my grandma Josephine's chocolate drop cookie recipe. I think she added some cold coffee, so they had a deep choco-mocha flavor with homemade frosting and a big walnut on top. They were soft and chewy.

I've passed a couple of recipes down to my daughters -- Chocolate Ecstasy (a decadent tasting but easy to make punch bowl dessert), a lasagna recipe, an Italian beef recipe that my first husband's sister passed to me.
