When do you get your turkey out to thaw?

My dad and a couple of his buddies always cooks our turkeys on a large grill so I don't have a clue as to when they pull them out to thaw.

I don't have to this year...going to son-in-laws family so they get to do it.

When I used to cook a big turkey, usually it took three days or so to thaw. This year I'm doing a prime rib roast and we'll pick it up fresh on Wednesday,

We use a chart depending on size. This year's is 22# so started thawing friday
