In your State

Post by Tamara »

So is the state you live in famous for any kind of fruit, produce etc?

I know Washington is popular for the variety of apples that grow. And in our state Utah peaches are the bomb!
We are dehydrating peaches today. Also have them on our pancakes and I will probably Freeze some for smoothies later.

Are you preparing anything for eating later in the year?

We have apples, peaches, grapes, strawberries, and blueberries. There are 7 apple orchards in the Brushy Mt. by me as well as a blueberry farm. We have an annual Peach Festival in July and an Apple Fest in Oct. Plenty of fruit surrounding me! I freeze most of it.

Here in Florida we're known for our oranges. You see lots of citrus groves as you drive around the state. The season starts in November and I just found a grove nearby that we can pick our own so hoping to do that this year. We also have blueberry and tomato farms and festivals. I usually freeze blueberries but for some reason we never went picking this year.
