It's Sunday - St Patrick's Day 3/17/19

Post by tammyfolk »

Good Morning ladies -

Played on my Ipad a bit this morning, while Shawn made us breakfast (waffles of course) and finally got up, and showered. Now I'm just sitting here looking through some kits, trying to decide whether to take them apart and just keep the things in the kit I want and discard the rest, or just stick it back in my stash. I've gone through every storage drawer / embellishment container that I own. I only have kits and paper left to go through. The kits are a bit overwhelming as I bought kits for years, and stopped scrapping. I still LOVE several of the kits but know that I'll never use everything in them due to taste, etc. What do you guys do with things in kits you know you'll never use?? Immediately remove them??

Thinking about you all!! Hugs Jan - and good buys yesterday?? Becca - I had my gall bladder out in 2006 due to stone blockage, and was up and about the very next day! Hope your surgery goes as well! Tamara, how's the eye today?? Barb? How's you mom, any news on the ortho situation?? Lolis, you go back to school tomorrow??

Yea! so good you are almost through your stash. Too bad I can't say the same. I did take some kits apart. I give all my "i'll never use" stuff to some older ladies on a low income who like to scrap. I have so much more to still due. This eye business has set me back. It was hard going to the March retreat with one eye. I never lasted each day the whole time. DH kept coming to get me. He is a keeper. I came home Friday at 5:30 laid down on the bed and fell asleep for two hours woke up and took a shower and went back to sleep. Yesterday I only lasted till 2:00. My face has started itching from the inside out. Hoping that is a good thing. It feels the same today. Tomorrow I will be going on five weeks. I just want to see out of my eye normal again. I put a roast in the crockpot so we do have food today!!
Happy Sunday! Hoping to unpack retreat bags. I got the main project finished. a cute spring book with paper flowers we made. They were stunning!

Tammy, unfortunately I'm no help as I never purse.
Tamara, hoping the itching is a sign of healing......btw, pot roast for dinner sounds good!

No good buys yesterday. We stopped in HL and Michael's and I didn't purchase a single scrap supply. Picked up a 4x6 frame and wax melts in Michael's and nothing in HL and it wasn't from lack of looking. I really wanted some Paige Evans papers but neither store had any. Did however purchase a new pillow at Target. I haven't been sleeping well at night for months so I thought a new pillow would help. It did.........or maybe it was the Xannax I took before I went to bed last night. I'm leaning towards the drugs!

I totally disassembled my scrap room; right now it's all kind of in the middle of the room while I rearrange plastic and wood storage units, clear shelves and empty the closets. Then I need to reorganize the room, sort out what's left and find places for it all. Four years ago when we were packing to move to Colorado, I filled four big cardboard boxes with paper, embellishments, ribbons and loads of other stuff and donated it to the shelter for abused women and their kids back in our home town. They do a lot of art therapy and journaling, so they were thrilled with all the stuff. I felt so peaceful knowing it would be put to good use.

My mom has been showing more signs of dementia lately and has trouble remembering if it's morning, noon or night. She also is lapsing in taking care of hygiene, dressing, etc. I think it's about time to hire a home health aide a couple of times a week to come and help her with showering, exercise and so on. It would take a big weight off my shoulders. We're waiting for an appointment with a specialist in CO Springs to fix my right ankle and foot; my arch has collapsed and my foot is at a weird angle. Probably it will involve surgery. My right hip also will need replacement at some point in the next year or so. It's discouraging because it seems that every time I turn around, there's a new issue.
