A Square Peg in a Round Hole

Join us all month long in September as we focus on all the things "circular" . . .flat and round things, spherical things, and even "round" things that've made their way into song titles. . . . the possibilities for inspiration are endless this month.

A Square Peg in a Round Hole

Post by Patti »

This is a saying that we have heard for years. A square peg will not fit into a round hole...UNLESS...you make the hole big enough for the peg to fit in. It's a good lesson for all of us, to enlarge our viewpoints, our creativity, to try and experience things out of our comfort zone. Today's challenge is going to make the hole big enough for the square peg.
This challenge has several parts.
1. create a circle but not with paper. I used ink to make mine. You could stitch, doodle, use brads or gems, buttons, paint...be creative. Make it big enough to allow your peg to fit in. You may use paper elsewhere on your project, just not the circle.
2. use a square picture or pictures that will work together to form a square
3. have fun!

I chose to make my LO a monochromatic one but feel free to use as many embellishments and colors as you wish.

I collected leaves on this trip, pressed them flat in a magazine, scanned them and printed them smaller to make them fit. I then fussy cut the leaves and placed them on the big green inked circle.
