Sept. Tuesday Morning Challenge

Post by Patti »

Good Morning, my adventurous friends! Some of you suggested we change this to a recipe challenge and that is exactly what we are going to do! Except with a twist! Below you will find an actual recipe. Your job is to transfer it to a LO. For example, cocoa could be brown cardstock, ink, ribbon, etc. Anything brown. Sugar might be something sparkly like gems or white like cardstock. Butter something yellow or something smooth such as embossing paste. You may also select items from the preparation. An example would be foil could be anything silver or metal.
Cutting into squares could be the use of square shapes. You get the idea.
To qualify for the drawing you must use at least 6 items from the recipe on your LO. Please tell us what they are. Try the recipe and post a picture and you will get an additional entry into the random drawing for a $5 gift card to your favorite site.
Your first recipe is an easy one and a yummy one! I encourage you to try the recipe for some cookin' up deliciousness.

Fudgy One-Pot Brownies from Rachel Ray

Ingredients
1 1/2 stick of butter
1 3/4 c sugar
1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
3 eggs
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 c flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8" square baking pan with foil, leaving a 2" overhang. Coat the foil with cooking spray. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Off the heat whisk in sugar, vanilla and salt. Whisk until creamy, about 1 minute. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well between additions. Add the cocoa powder and flour, stirring until just blended. Pour into pan. Bake the brownies until a tester inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached, 40-45 minutes. Cool in the pan set on a wire rack. Using the foil overhang lift the brownies out of the pan and cut them into squares.

The brown frames are cocoa, the sprayed ink is cooking spray, the background cardstock is butter, the journaling is flour, eggs, and directions, the clip is wire cooling rack, the metal disk is the metal cooking pan foil, and two of the pictures are square.
