4/1 Mother Earth Challenge - Scraps

Join us all month long in April as we celebrate Mother Earth herself . . .by Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling. . . Reducing is cutting back on the amount of trash we make, reusing is finding a new way to use trash so that we don't have to throw it out, and recycling is using trash to remake new goods that can be sold again.

4/1 Mother Earth Challenge - Scraps

Post by Krystle »

Join us all month long in April as we celebrate Mother Earth herself . . . Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Reducing is cutting back on the amount of trash we make, reusing is finding a new way to use trash so that we don't have to throw it out, and recycling is using trash to remake new goods that can be sold again. Challenges will be based on reusing, reducing and recycling - whether it be in your personal life or with your scrapbooking supplies, focusing on finding new ways to use and repurpose items in our stash.......the possibilities are limitless...

This week I am challenging you to reuse paper and include scraps on your page. On this layout I used two small strips of orange paper that I used on another layout:

A new Blue Plate Special challenge is posted each Wednesday and Saturday, and participants have until the 3rd of the following month to complete and post their creations. Prize will be a $10 Gift Certificate to their online store of choice.
*any month that we have more than 50 completed layouts/creations, the prize will be a $20 Gift Certificate instead of $10.

Great challenge Kristie. I love the colors on your page. I've been using scraps and leftover bits of everything I can find for over 2 years now. I add a few new items occasionally to be able to make a layout work.
I started doing this several years ago being inspired by a Earth Day challenge. I'm embarrassed to say just how much I must have hoarded to have so much STILL to use up. I try each year to do a Earth Day LO with something unusual like a background made from corrugated cardboard or pop can pull-tabs to use as a ribbon.
